Understanding OCD

Intrusive thoughts — and a treatable condition

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is a mental health condition where someone experiences unwanted, intrusive thoughts and urges to perform repetitive behaviors to reduce their anxiety.

People are often aware that their thoughts and behaviors do not make sense, but they find it very difficult, with interruption in daily life.

Recognizing the Signs

OCD creates a cycle of intrusive thoughts and compulsive behaviors — and breaking that cycle is the first step toward relief.
